Installing Canon LBP2900b in debian squeeze

I recently purchased a laser printer for my  home having  Linux support  and bought the canon laserjet 2900b but  they didn't provide the Linux driver packages and i had to hunt down the Linux driver on the internet and found it in this website
http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/products/printers/Laser/i-SENSYS_LBP2900B.aspx?DLtcmuri=tcm:14-846492&page=1&type=download

and so i Downloaded the latest driver and installed it and Debian somehow automatically added this driver but there is one catch it wouldn't print  i searched all Linux forums and came upon the fedora forums and  found a way to install it in Debian squeeze I uninstalled the canon drivers and removed all printers in the system-->Administration-->Printing  and rebooted and reinstalled the canon driver and then become root and issued the following commands:
/usr/sbin/lpadmin -p LBP2900 -m CNCUPSLBP2900CAPTK.ppd -v ccp:/var/ccpd/fifo0 -E
/usr/sbin/ccpdadmin -p LBP2900 -o /dev/usb/lp0
/etc/init.d/ccpd start
to check for the status monitor of the printer issue this command
captstatusui -P LBP2900
Check by printing a test page if all work well then add the
/etc/init.d/ccpd start to /etc/rc.local file
